Crooked Steeple Morris We are Crooked Steeple Morris! We dance traditional clog dances from the North-West of England.
We originate from Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire, England. A beautiful little village in the heart of the Shropshire countryside.
The name Crooked Steeple Morris comes from the charming village of Cleobury Mortimer, which has a very famous crooked steeple on the beautiful 14th Century St. Mary's Church, although parts of the church originate from the 13th Century.
![]() Cleobury used to have a famous poet postman, Simon Evans, who wrote a book called 'Around the Crooked Steeple' which also inspired our name. There is a waymarked walk that follows in his footsteps around the area.
Cleobury Mortimer is also proud to be home to Hobsons Brewery, who are
sponsors of Crooked Steeple Morris.
